This kit contains all the materials you need to reupholster a set of dining seats except the top fabric and specialist tools which are available elsewhere on our site (see links below). Also available on our website are help sheets to guide you through the process of upholstering your chair seats. The kit is suitable for dining chairs which only require the seats to be covered. If your chairs have upholstery on the backs or elsewhere you will need additional materials to complete the job.
Set 4 kit comprises:
- 4 x 19″ x 19″ x 1″ RX38 Foam
- 2 x Metres Polyester wadding 2oz
- 1 x Can Spray Adhesive
- 1 Metre Dipryl Bottoming Black
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS.
Four standard size drop in seats can be covered in 1.5 metres of fabric and small seats will only require 1 metre. Allow 10mm (4”) of fabric all around the seat for turning under and fastening. As a general rule you will only get two seats side by side from a standard width upholstery fabric (1.38mts 54”)
Set 6 kit comprises:
- 6 x 19″ x 19″ x 1″ RX38 Foam
- 3 x Metres Polyester wadding 2oz
- 1 x Can Spray Adhesive
- 1.5 Metre Dipryl Bottoming Black
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS.
Six standard size drop in seats can be covered in 2 metres of fabric and small seats will only require 1.5 metres. Allow 10mm (4”) of fabric all around the seat for turning under and fastening. As a general rule you will only get two seats side by side from a standard width upholstery fabric (1.38mts 54”)
Set 8 kit comprises:
- 8 x 19″ x 19″ x 1″ RX38 Foam
- 4 x Metres Polyester wadding 2oz
- 1 x Can Spray Adhesive
- 2 Metre Dipryl Bottoming Black
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS.
Eight standard size drop in seats can be covered in 3 metres of fabric and small seats will only require 2 metres. Allow 10mm (4”) of fabric all around the seat for turning under and fastening. As a general rule you will only get two seats side by side from a standard width upholstery fabric (1.38mts 54”)
Tools required:
- Staple Remover or Tack Lifter (Depending on whether you have to remove tacks or staples)
- Carpenters Pincers (To assist in removing old staples/tacks etc)
- Staple Gun
- 10mm Staples (If you want to staple the new fabric on) OR 500gm box 13 mm tacks (If you want to tack it on)
- Knife (Stanley type) (To trim new fabric)
